Sculptor at work

2 January 2005

Sculptor Marcus Cornish is now in residence at the Museum of London. He will be creating clay sculptures inspired by visitor reactions to the displays.

Look out for Marcus if you are visiting. He will be based in our Treasury Gallery but may also be out sketching in the galleries. Please feel free to watch him at work and ask questions.

The sculptures will celebrate Londoners as the makers, users, collectors and viewers of the objects on display. The finished works will be exhibited later this year.

Marcus studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art, London. Since then he was worked on many private and corporate commissions. These include portraits for HRH The Prince of Wales, tour artist with the British Army in Kosovo and the Victoria Cross Memorial at Whitehall.
