Forthcoming exhibitions 2003
9 January 2003
Twenties London: a city in the jazz age 17 October 2003 to 19 July 2004.
The first exhibition to feature in the Museum of London's new Linbury Gallery, Twenties London: a city in the jazz age will bring to life this vibrant period in the capital's history that shaped its development throughout the 20th century.
Twenties London will be a visually spectacular, multi-disciplinary exhibition, bringing together the art, architecture, fashion, politics and culture of the era in a way that resonates strongly with London today. From traffic chaos in the streets to debates about public services, from the Americanisation of advertising to government spin about what it means to be British, from red phone boxes to West End night clubs, Twenties London will be a major exploration of one of the key decades in Britain's 20th century history.
