Eric Sorensen
Eric Sorensen is currently Chief Executive of Thames Gateway London Partnership and works as part of a shared effort to transform and regenerate the Thames Gateway, focusing on housing, social infrastructure and jobs.
Previously, Mr Sorensen was Director of the Paddington Health Campus Project, a planned PFI redevelopment project for the rebuilding of St Mary's Hospital. Before that, he was Chief Executive of the London Development Partnership.
From 1997 to 1998 he was Chief Executive of the Millennium Commission, distributing lottery grants to support worthwhile projects, and from 1991 to 1997 Chief Executive of the London Docklands Development Corporation.
In his earlier career Mr Sorensen was a senior civil servant in the Department of the Environment, with roles including Director of Housing, Personnel Director and Head of Inner Cities Directorate. He is a non executive Director of Homerton Hospital, a member of Islington Council's Standards Committee, and Chair of the Royal Docks Charitable Trust which supports community groups in the locality.
